So you want to try CBD for the first time, do ya? Your guide to CBD dosing has arrived.

The number #1 question we get is around CBD dosing, “Where do I begin with dosing, how much do I take?”. Well my pretties, you’ve come to the right place. Adding cannabidiol, or more commonly known as CBD, to your routine can bring balance and empower your wellness journey in a multitude of ways. Preliminary research and clinical studies are supporting CBD’s wellness benefits every day, but we know CBD dosing can be confusing. There are a few ways to incorporate CBD into your daily rituals and microdosing CBD is one of our all-time favorite ways to use CBD’s therapeutic power.

Let’s start off with some frequently asked questions.

  1. What is CBD? CBD is a naturally occurring molecule found in all cannabis plants, this includes both hemp and THC-rich cannabis. CBD is like an adaptogen in that when taken it can help empower things like anxiety, stress, period discomfort, sleep, pain, and inflammation within our overall wellness over time. 2. CBD Dosing; What is a microdose? A microdose is a small, beginner CBD dose that builds in our system. It is best to start with a low dose to see how your body responds, before working up to a larger dose that may relieve symptoms.
  3. Is CBD going to create a dependency? No, it will not. The World Health Organization has deemed CBD non-habit causing.
  4. Will CBD get me “high”? Our CBD elixirs have 0.3% THC, which is within the legal limit across states and ensures the non-psychoactive component of cannabis while still receiving the medicinal benefits of cannabis. Hemp is like Mary Jane’s little sister when it comes to THC content.

NO BOTTLED UP BS

Not all CBD is created equal. Deciding which brands and products to purchase should be a thoughtful decision. Similar to finding out where your produce or eggs are sourced from, it is important to know where the CBD you’re ingesting is sourced from as well. Now is the time to be wary of fancy packaging designs and marketing. As it is with romance, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Be on the hunt for products that are 100% whole plant, ‘full spectrum’ CBD, meaning all of the therapeutic cannabinoids found in hemp flower, not the stalks or leaves of the plant, are used.  Here at Soul Addict, we believe CBD should be consciously grown, harvested, and crafted from plant-to-bottle. That’s why we consider ourselves a ‘Conscious CBD’ company – we create hemp CBD products with clean ingredients and the highest standards for you, our family and friends.

Our North Carolina-grown plant-based blend of full-spectrum hemp extract is third-party tested, ensuring the most potent and pure oil, and grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides, solvents. Made from only two plant-based ingredients (Cannabinoid-rich CO2 extracted Hemp Extract emulsified in organic, virgin hemp seed oil), we formulated our CBD Elixir to be adjustable for dosing for everyone, those who have sensitive systems and those who might need a higher CBD dose to feel its effects. Our CBD is a true functional food-grade oil.

YOUR FIRST DOSE

Soul Addict CBD

Now for the good stuff. Ready for some serious calm, chill bliss? Try one of the following methods starting with a single dose, also known as a ‘Microdose’. This serving/dose is 15 drops or one-quarter of a full dropper. Each serving/dose equals 4.2 mg CBD. We recommend trying at night about an hour or two before bed to see how you feel. Most people, we’ve seen, tend to need anywhere from 10-20 milligrams of CBD per day on-average for best results. Here are a few ways we suggest taking your first CBD dose:

Option 1:  CBD absorbs into our bloodstream and metabolizes quickest when taken sublingually. Leave the oil under your tongue (a.k.a. sublingually) for 15-30 seconds, then swallow. This is the ‘CBD speedway’, so to speak.

Option 2:  Mix with a bedtime tonic (honey, ginger, non-dairy milk), or in a warm tea. Tip: Because of our CBD Elixir’s natural healthy fats from organic hemp oil content, try mixing with honey, maple syrup, or another fat when adding to a beverage, though not required. This method takes longer to digest and metabolize.

After 20 minutes, you may feel what we call the “zen shift”.

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY

After your first dose, most people decide they need more or less depending on how they feel. You may find that there will be a degree of trial and error to find the dose that works for you personally. Your body loves you! Listening to your body will help you develop your CBD ritual moving forward. An average CBD ritual can be anywhere from 1 to 4 doses a day or more, divided or taken at once. As with any changes in self-care, usually, it takes about 2 weeks to a month to decide what feels best. There is no right or wrong way to ingest CBD, navigate what feels best for you and your body, always

Once you’ve determined the dose that works best for you, you may be ready to get creative with your dosing! Anxiety in the mornings when you wake up? Add our elixir to your morning wellness routine or a smoothie. Stressed at work? Take a sublingual dose. Feeling down at night? Mix in a mocktail and dance the night away. You can truly heighten any recipe. Mix it into dressings, nut butter, chia pudding, overnight oats, smoothies, raw recipes, beauty-infused topicals for skin and body… the possibilities are endless. You can even add it to matcha, coffee, soup or hot teas, after they’ve cooled. Get fancy, baby!
